We sat down with LeBicar to get to learn a bit more about the man behind the art, his dreams and motivations. Here is how our Q&A went down:

1. What was your creative intent behind this project?
For this project, I wanted to do something bold! A close-up of my signature flower, why not! I liked the idea of emphasizing the line that becomes almost abstract depending on the point of view, as if you could discover a path from point A to point B. We opted for black on white, to respect my work and to make sure the jersey contrasts in different landscapes, both urban and rural!

2. How would you describe your experience working with LeBraquet.cc?
From the first call, I knew it was going to be a cool project! After a good brainstorm, some discussions, the editing of technical files and a lot of laughs, I’m really happy with the result. I met some great people and some real bike enthusiasts!

3. How do you think this project will leave its legacy in the Montreal cycling community?
I am often told that my work is optimistic and unifying. I think the idea is to celebrate what makes us truly happy, and clearly cycling is at the centre of many people’s lives! I dare to think that wearing the jersey will be seen as a reminder to embrace life and share the passion that unites us ;).

4. With LeBraquet.cc, you have chosen to donate a part of the profits from the sale of the jerseys to Sun Youth. Why did you choose this organization? Does it have a special and important meaning to you?
We were looking to make an impact close to home. Having been a youth worker in another life, I know how important these types of organizations are to the youth in the area!
